Kairi
KAIRI meaning a raw mango is a collection inspired by the beautiful Paisley motif of 16th century Persian origin, introduced to India by the Mughals. The form is considered to be the convergence of a floral spray top with a cedar tree. A cedar tree was planted by Zarathustra in Paradise - and is a Zoroastrian symbol of life and eternity. The motif is used in varying dimensions to create depth, drama and visual interest in embellishments. The placements are unusual and silhouettes modern, though deeply rooted in India sartorial history and the labels signature handwoven fabrics, fluid drapes and hand-embroideries. Zardozi and Marodi embroideries in gold and silver are masterfully used to create a delicate effect inspite of the motifs large size on a vibrant and dramatic pallete of reds and olive; turquoise and ivory; and navy and candypink.
